Cookies and privacy

In short: this site has no tracking or advertising cookies. It stores two things in your browser, and one of them only appears if you sign in to the admin area.

Summary

  • No advertising or tracking cookies.
  • No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics or similar).
  • Fonts are served from this server, not fetched from Google.
  • Embedded videos load only after you allow them.

What is stored in your browser

Two items in total:

  • sessionidCookieRequired

Keeps you signed in to the internal admin area. Created only after signing in at /webtools — an ordinary visitor never receives it.

    Lifetime: 7 days

  • viridis.consent.v1localStorageOptional

Remembers your decision about embedded videos so the bar does not ask every time. It is never sent to the server.

    Lifetime: Until you delete it

Embedded videos

The documentation and the home page contain YouTube videos. The player is not loaded until you allow it — until then no request reaches YouTube, so it never sees your IP address. Once allowed, YouTube terms apply: it stores its own identifiers in your browser.

Your setting

You have not decided yet. The bar appears on pages with a video.

Documentation traffic

For documentation chapters we count how often they were viewed and whether they helped. We record the time, the chapter and a truncated IP address (the last part is discarded, so it cannot identify a device). Nothing records who viewed what, and the data never leaves this server.

Contact form

When you send a message we store the name, e-mail, message text plus the IP address and browser details. The last two exist so the form can be defended against flooding. Only team members can read the messages.

How to change it

Embedded videos can be blocked at any time with the button above. The cookie and the stored decision can be deleted in your browser settings. Without the sessionid cookie you cannot sign in to the admin area; reading the site is unaffected.

Questions

Anything about how the data is handled can be raised through the contact form.
